Ideal Aerosmith is the premier supplier of state-of-the-art direct-drive
electric and hydraulic motion systems to support the development, testing and evaluation
of inertial navigation devices and guidance systems required by the commercial and
defense markets.
Our Motion Simulation Test Systems are designed to test single and multi-axis inertial
systems such as Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), Attitude Heading Reference Systems
(AHRS), MEMS inertial sensors, accelerometers, flight control systems, Inertial
Measurement Units (IMU), and platform stabilization devices.
Ideal’s Flight Motion Simulation Systems include real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop
(HWIL) motion control instrumentation, high-dynamic electric and hydraulic flight
motion systems along with target motion systems. Our flight and target motion systems
are key components throughout the development and testing of infrared, laser, RF
guided weapon systems such as missiles and smart munitions.
Most of Ideal’s motion simulation systems are configured with the AERO 4000™ Digital
Motion Controller.
This controller is Ideal Aerosmith’s flagship controller and an essential component
of the precision or high-dynamic motion simulation systems. Our AERO 4000™ Controller
is built upon commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and software platforms to
minimize cost and delivery schedules, as well as to provide Ideal’s customers with
a product that does not lock them into proprietary technology and single-source
part vendors.
Ideal’s Aircraft Instrument Test Equipment is the standard in the aviation maintenance
industry. Our test equipment is primarily used for inspection, evaluation, qualification
and/or calibration testing of various types of aircraft instrumentation components
such as gyroscopes, inertial instruments, pressure-sensitive instruments, tachometer
indicators/generators and weather-radar systems. This includes Scorsby Tables, Tachometer
Testers, Pressure/Vacuum Instrument Chambers, manual Tilt and Turn Tables, and a
single-axis rate table.
Ideal Aerosmith also offers full service, calibration, refurbishments and upgrade
support for our products and also for legacy Owens-Illinois, Genisco/Triotech, Carco
Electronics, Contraves-Goerz, and Contraves electric and hydraulic motion tables
and platforms.
Ideal strengthened its motion product and flight motion simulation capabilities
in January 2005, when Ideal hired all of the former Carco Electronics - Menlo Park
division employees and a majority of the Pittsburgh division employees. Ideal Aerosmith
is uniquely qualified to design, fabricate, install, and commission motion systems
required within the aerospace, defense, automotive, and industrial markets.
Ideal’s motion product staff works closely with our Test Services Division to provide
innovative “Test Solutions” that include full turn-key services in the design, manufacture
and field support of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for our customers. Our skill
set includes test software development, test requirements definition, and Test Program
Set (TPS) Development. We are proficient at obsolescence re-engineering to upgrade
any existing legacy test systems.
