The Model 2455H-ER Five-Axis Hydraulic Flight Motion Simulator extends the capabilities
of Ideal's Three-Axis Flight Motion Simulator for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) seeker/guidance
testing, to include target motion simulation. The inner target axis can accommodate
an infra-red scene projector, or it can be configured for two target axes as a compact
RF range, with multiple feeds and a parabolic collimating reflector. Ideal’s Five-Axis
Hydraulic Flight Motion Simulator is configured with efficient, high torque hydraulic
actuators and it is rugged enough to allow high performance simulations - such as
Monte Carlo type test scenarios - on a time-continuous basis.
As with our Three-Axis Flight Motion Simulator, this Five-Axis System uses Ideal's
versatile AERO 4000™ Controller to provide real-time motion control via several industry-standard
high-speed interfaces. Unique features of the AERO 4000™ Controller for HWIL simulations
include:
- A simple controller configuration; capability to control hydraulic, electric,
or any drive combination up to 6 axes with ONLY one (1) controller chassis.
- Precise and easy tuning with Digital Servo Controls at the Graphic User Interface
(GUI); programmable pressure and servo loops to optimize hydraulic axis response.
- A versatile, COTS-based host communication options for HWIL simulations; SCRAMNet
GT, SCRAMNet+, VMIC, xPC Target, or a custom interface is available to minimize
communication latency with host computers.
- Flexible standards-based options for host/controller synchronization; eliminates
drift and customer data I/O modification algorithms. AERO 4000™ implements standard
GPS, 1 PPS / 10MHz signal pair, or 5000Hz TTL sync options rather than a proprietary
time-stamped demand / readout data adjustments.
- The ability to playback arbitrary multi-axis MotionFiles™ for open-loop baseline
tests; provides an easy way to design, save, select, and play MotionFiles™ from
the AERO 4000™ GUI for motion scenarios w/o remote host communications.
